Six Welsh Mission Pathfinders publicly declared their commitment to Jesus through baptism at the British Union Conference’s ‘Image Bearers’ Camporee, making it a particularly memorable week for the Mission’s young people.
Mellinda from Cardiff International; Hannah, Velentina, Mitchell Jr and Aneshe from Telford Central; and Seth from Newtown were baptised by Welsh Mission President Pastor Jeremy Johnson. Their decisions placed faith at the heart of a gathering filled with worship, friendship and adventure.
Pictured alongside Pastor Jeremy, the six young people represent an encouraging chapter in the Welsh Mission’s Pathfinder ministry. Their baptism marked both a personal milestone and a shared celebration for the clubs and church family supporting their walk with Christ.
More than 60 Welsh Mission Pathfinders attended the camporee, held from 28 July to 2 August 2026. Guest speaker Pastor Damian Chandra encouraged participants to deepen their relationship with Jesus and reflect His character in everyday life through the theme ‘Image Bearers’.
The Welsh Mission’s Drum Corps and Drill Team also contributed to the opening ceremony, demonstrating the preparation, discipline and teamwork of its young people and leaders.
Yet among the week’s many experiences, the six baptisms held special significance: a public response to the invitation to follow Jesus.
As their churches continue to nurture these young disciples, their commitment offers a powerful expression of the Mission’s ‘Ambassadors of Hope’ vision—young people growing in faith and carrying Christ’s love into their communities.
