More than 60 Welsh Mission Pathfinders experienced a week of worship, fellowship and adventure at the British Union Conference’s ‘Image Bearers’ Camporee, held from 28 July to 2 August 2026. The gathering offered opportunities to deepen faith, develop skills and serve alongside fellow Pathfinders. The Welsh Mission’s Drum Corps and drill team had the honour of performing during the opening ceremony, while other Welsh Pathfinders helped lead proceedings. Wearing burgundy berets and smart uniforms, the participants demonstrated discipline, teamwork and dedication beneath the striking ‘Image Bearers’ stage emblem. Their contribution reflected the preparation and commitment of both Pathfinders and their leaders.

Guest speaker, Pastor Damian Chandra, a gifted youth speaker from the United States, encouraged Pathfinders to strengthen their relationship with Christ. One of the camporee’s most moving moments came when Welsh Mission President Pastor Jeremy Johnson baptised four Welsh Pathfinders, marking their public commitment to follow Jesus. Among those baptised was Seth Lawrence, who subsequently moved to Jamaica with his mother, Sister Kizuwanda Lawrence who soon returned to their native Jamaica. Seth’s baptism became a poignant milestone as the family prepared for this new chapter.
Tamani Khuoge, a newly invested Welsh Mission Master Guide, said that she “gained valuable experience working alongside seasoned camporee organisers, discovering more about the planning and service that support such gatherings. The Welsh Mission Pathfinder Sponsor coordinated Roverland for more than 280 participants aged 16–19. By God’s grace, the programme ran successfully, providing opportunities for older Pathfinders to participate and grow spiritually. From the opening ceremony to the baptisms, the camporee demonstrated the value of Pathfinder ministry in nurturing faith, confidence and leadership. Welsh Mission participants returned with experiences to cherish and renewed encouragement to reflect Christ in their daily lives.
