Merthyr Tydfil: New Church Plant

The new Seventh-Day Adventist Church Plant at Merthyr Tydfil.

In 1800 the young Mary Jones did a 26 miles walk over the hills and valleys of North Wales in order to get a Bible. That inspiration has brought us throughout the ages and led us into the valleys of South Wales where after toil and labour the Holy Spirit has guided a new church group of young families to be planted within the Welsh Mission. All having the same desire and passion for the Bible and its truths to be shared with the entire community.

The Merthyr Tydfil group was formerly recognised as a church plant by the Welsh Mission Executive Committee in January 2026. Under the leadership of Pastor Jeremy Johnson the group was formed by the mother church Cardiff Central and assisted by the Ystrad Mynach church.

This young and vibrant church plant, the first in the Welsh Mission for the last ten years is the start of a revival in the valleys, in and around Wales, which the group has already started planting other seeds in the local community where they are based. The head elder, Tudor Bostan and his wife, Ana, have already opened their home to the local community children holding weekly Friday night vespers and a Bible study for them, along with meal provisions.

We ask for your prayers and continued support for this church plant as they continue to spread the Good News and reflect the hope that we have in the coming of Jesus Christ throughout all of the villages, towns and cities within the Welsh Mission.
