New Welsh Mission President Elected

At the British Union Conference Session from 1st - 3rd July 2026 which was held at the Atrium Hotel in Heathrow, Pastor Jeremy Johnson was elected by the delegates to become the new Welsh Mission President.

We thank Pastor Max McKenzie-Cook for the support he showed to the Welsh Mission during his time as the Interim Welsh Mission President. He took over for a short time after Pastor Graham Allcock retired.

Originally of Jamaican heritage, Pastor Jeremy Johnson is married to Sharon and was the pastor to the Cardiff district, which includes Cardiff, Cardiff International and the recently set-up church plant in Merthyr Tydfil. Pastor Jeremy has previously been the Welsh Mission Youth Sponsor and most recently was the Assistant for the Personal Ministries Department in the Welsh Mission.

In his remarks after being elected, Pastor Jeremy Johnson acknowledged the BUC delegates and was humbled by being called to the office of president. He quoted Matthew 28:19-20 and reiterated how he wishes to work with the pastors, church members and community at large for everyone to seek God and to make God known, by spreading the Gospel to all.

We want to wish Pastor Jeremy Johnson well in his new role and we pray that God will guide him in his new position. Some of the directors and other posts are still to be elected in early August. We will keep you posted.
