Welsh Mission Worship Night - "Many Voices United in Worship"

Praise God for his enduring love and faithfulness

We had a fantastic time as many voices truly united in worship at the Welsh Mission Worship Night, held at Cardiff SDA Church. Young people from across Wales and Bristol filled the church, gathering under one theme and scripture: Psalm 117.

The evening was a beautiful blend of spoken word, testimonies, prayer and a diverse range of musical styles. One moment was electrifying as the congregation lifted their voices in praise; the next was quiet and solemn as we reflected on the goodness and faithfulness of God.

Abram, from Swansea Church, shared a powerful testimony of how God helped him graduate. He spoke of God’s providence throughout his journey and encouraged everyone to continue trusting Him, even when the way forward is uncertain.

Ellen, from Cardiff International, also shared a testimony of God’s protection after she and her friends were involved in a car accident. As she recounted how God had watched over them, the entire church erupted in praise, giving thanks for His continued protection over His children.

Zai delivered a powerful spoken-word piece entitled “Called of God,” reminding us that the good work God has begun in us, He will complete. She encouraged the young people to navigate life with “Godfidence”—confidence rooted not in ourselves, but in God.

It is not a worship night without fantastic music. The event had a rich diversity of styles ranging from traditional hymns to contemporary gospel and original compositions. Instrumentalists such as Isaac and Ali, soloists including Serene and Kevin, as well as praise teams and groups from Newport, Swansea and Cardiff International, each brought something unique to the evening and encouraged the congregation to draw closer to God.

The Chigbo sisters performed an original song composed by Toochi, while Miriam led the congregation into a time of spontaneous worship. Rather than simply listening, the congregation became part of the worship experience, with young people choosing the songs and lifting their voices together.

Joshua also led a reflective meditation and united prayer, creating space for everyone to pause, reflect and seek God together.

The sermonette was delivered by Welsh Mission Youth Sponsor, Shola, who brought a power-packed message from Psalm 117, the theme scripture for the evening. Her message reminded us of the universal call to praise God for His enduring love and faithfulness.

The evening concluded with pizza and a buffet, giving the young people an opportunity to relax, socialise and build new connections. It was particularly encouraging to see so many young people carpooling together and making the effort to be there. The gathering was not simply an evening of worship; it was also an opportunity to strengthen relationships and build a sense of community among young people across Wales and Bristol.

A special thank you goes to the Cardiff Central Youth leader and hospitality team, to Aaron, Miriam and Edleen, Kelechi along with Pastor Sam and Tim, for all their hard work behind the scenes in making the event such a special and memorable evening.

It was a beautiful reminder of what can happen when young people come together with one purpose: to worship, to testify, to pray and to draw closer to God.
